This album is an excellent progression from Katie Kim’s earlier work, with each recording on the album exploring the songs potential, yet remaining subtle and restrained. Although Kim’s music is hard to put under a particular genre, this record introduces a subtle new influence of american folk to her experimental sound, both instrumentally and melodically. Amongst others, Katie Kim is setting a high standard for what should be expected from the Irish music scene this year.
