Ibeyi

Ibeyi

[XL]

The Cheeky Girls aside, twin sisters of this calibre have been more or less unprecedented in the music industry. Ibeyi are XL’s latest discovery and are yet another ticking time bomb of future world domination like Adele, FKA twigs and The xx before them. Their self-titled album seamlessly combines an old school Nina-esque soul influence with contemporary electronica, hip hop and jazz, however it’s their native Yoruban chants peppered through the album, and the ghost of their late, Grammy-winning father at its heart that will leave you haunted long after listening.
