All signs point towards a purple patch. From the once-upon-a-time single of the year Wolf Cub/Moth release with Burial through to this second salvo, Kieran Hebden’s got a dubstep bottle-rocket up his arse. Taking the same dynamic as the aforementioned released (bass even your shitty laptop speakers will transmit straight to your gut, ethereal female vocals, and a slow, delicious crescendo), Love Cry points towards a less oblique Four Tet for the future apparent. Its brilliance is not in question – the only debate is whether or not the Joy Orbison remix tops it.
