Jigsaw

[Pear]

Jigsaw is r.kitt’s broody homage to the community centre on the Northside of Dublin where the DIP crew have been running (some of) their parties since 2015. Jigsaw also happens to be the inaugural release of All-city’s new offshoot Pear, and the Ballinteer producer’s debut EP.

Kitt’s jazz-influenced musical sensibilities are evident across all four tracks: bubbling pads sit afloat ear-catching basslines and shuffling 808s, with woozy melodies evoking the kind of wide-eyed melancholia evident in the early 90s house music one would associate with Larry Heard or Burrell Brothers at their pinnacle.

With one eye on the heart and the other on the dance floor, the future is looking bright for r.kitt.
