Cirillo’s

Tim Warfield

Spherical

[Criss Cross]

You probably need to know nothing more than this CD is dedicated to the immortal jazz pianist-composer Thelonious Monk, however, add to that the fact that Warfield has the virtuoso quintet of Eddie Henderson (trumpet), Orin Evans (piano), Ben Wolfe (bass) and Clarence Penn (drums) on board should have you running out to buy this CD by now. After you hear the opening bars of the first track Blue Hawk you will be saying to yourself ‘I’m so glad I have this CD.’  By the time you get to the familiar opening of the closer Round Midnight, you will be repeating to yourself ‘By God, do I ever love jazz music.’ This CD is the real business.
