Colin Stetson is not an easy man to pin down. The Michigan-born, Quebec-based musician is master of many instruments and has held down a place in bands like Bon Iver and Arcade Fire, while recording with Tom Waits, Laurie Anderson, TV On The Radio, SInead O’Connor, David Byrne… You get the idea. He’s been busy and with good reason. Thanks to his signature work with the bass saxophone, his sound is unlike anyone else. Intense and detailed pieces emerge fully formed from the horn of his instrument, blown into life with extended breathing techniques and an ear for the strange. We’ve been waiting ages for this gig.
