Hidden Agenda are taking the night off this Saturday and Totally Dublin’s agreed to babysit. So, we’re throwing a big aul party of our own this bank holiday weekend down in the Button Factory. Guaranteed bants, guaranteed bands(we hope). And, we want all of you to come and join the fun, which is why it’s free in all night! Here’s a sneak peek at who we’ve got lined up for the night.
Diamond Dagger
Damo Lynch, who previously released music under the alias of Sasparilla has spent the last year touring with David Kitt’s New Jackson project while intermittently releasing solo stuff and reinventing himself as Diamond Dagger. His new sound has been described by Nialler9 as “vintage sounding synth-based electronica as Diamond Dagger, music which is like soundtracks to forgotten movies and video games”
I Am Cosmo’s (Dj set)
These guys took the Irish music scene by storm with the release of their debut album “Monochrome” earlier this year. Their own album is, as the title suggests a juxtaposition of black and white, old and new, upbeat and slow. Turner has described it as “tears on the dancefloor”. It is both heavy and intense and yet inherently danceable. We have faith that the boys will compile a list of absolute bangers on the night.
Forza Italo Djs
Totally Dublin’s own music critic Ian Maleney has hailed it as one of Dublin’s favourite new club nights. Forza Italo is all about good music and having fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Before the Italian themed night returns to its home at the Odessa on Sunday, resident Dj’s Sebastian Simonetti and Stefano Crosserini will be getting warmed up on Saturday night with us in the Button Factory to give you a taste of whats to come the following night. Check out this mix from Dj Benetti.
Jet Setter
Jet Setter are a Dublin based 4 piece band comprised of members of Spies and friends. They play shoegazey surf pop that compares to no other Dublin band. For fans of anything garagey and surfy from the far side of the Atlantic.
Totally Dublin presents Diamond Dagger, I Am Cosmos(Dj set), Forza Italo Djs and Jet Setter this bank holiday Saturday August 4th in the Button Factory. Doors open 9pm at and admission is free in all night. For more info visit the facebook event page.
