Venetian Snares

One of the founding fathers of so-called IDM in the 90s, Aaron Funk began releasing music on self-dubbed cassettes before his anything-but-4/4 beats got picked up by Planet Mu and world-wide acclaim soon followed. Funk’s take on breakcore is often aggressive and always detailed, sounding manic on the surface but tightly controlled by the man behind it. His ridiculously prolific output means his discography over the last 15 years is nigh-on unfathomable but this set should serve as a good introduction for those unfamiliar with his inimitable oeuvre, as well as a fresh reminder for fans of a style that has fallen very far out of fashion.

Support comes from the ever brilliant (and half of Lakker) Eomac.
