Few people have been more influential on techno in recent years than Levon Vincent. Arriving in Europe with an American flavour of big-room techno, his residency at Fabric cemented his reputation with young (and not-so-young) British ravers while his productions (released on his own Novel Sound and Berghain-label Ostgut Ton) have seen him explore the multifaceted relationship between London, Berlin and New York. Sets in just about every important club on the continent and rare mixes, such as his Fabric Mix and RA Podcast this year, have only furthered his cause of straight-up, no-nonsense techno where the music does all the talking. As serious as it sounds – and Vincent does take his music very seriously – there is also a hugely important sense of fun at the centre of what he does; the party spirit is key.
