Kassem Mosse is a bit of singular figure in the modern club world. His idiosyncratic takes on house and techno, built from bits of vintage gear and buckets of groove, eschew traditional structures, clean beats and solidity in general. Instead, he makes something far more exciting. His work varies between classic Chicago sounds, ultra-modern noise techno and just about anything in between, but it always comes back to his particular rough, organic and unpredictable sense of what works on a dancefloor. His last few visits here couldn’t be praised more and his 2012 releases (on Trilogy Tapes, Sounds Of The Universe and his own Workshop) have been stellar, so expect only the best.
