Win a pair of tickets to see Leo Drezden at Mermaid Arts Centre

Posted June 2, 2015 in Competitions, More

There’s a cracking musical line-up in store on Saturday 6th June as post punk Leo Drezden play the Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray with support from Everything Shook and Joni.

From Wicklow, Leo Drezden are an instrumental quartet who can be described as post-rock with nods to vintage prog and jazz-rock.  Occupying a musical space that blurs the lines between electronica and contemporary jazz-rock arrangements, the band is a reincarnation of the revered, groove-heavy prog instrumentalists Rocket Surgery and features Rian Trench from Solar Bears.

“If Jodorowsky ever gets the go ahead to make Dune, he’s definitely going to want Leo Drezden on the soundtrack” – Claire Beck, TXFM & Golden Plec

Leo Drezden will be supported on the night by Everything Shook and Joni.

Everything Shook are a three-piece band from Dublin featuring dancers Jessica Kennedy, Áine Stapleton (You can call me Frances) and Robyn Bromfield (Catscars). Their performance is theatrical and playful, blending an unusual aesthetic with dark electronic sounds and layered vocals.

Joni is a vocalist and violinist who performs her own brand of electronic RnB and garage music, fusing garage, blues, pop, rnb and electronica to bring a post modern twist to her performances.
