Following their closure in December 2024, and a determined search to find new premises, Gallery Zozimus finally has a bright new home in the heart of Dublin 8.
The Gallery has just moved in to No. 51 Francis Street, which previously housed Esther Sexton antiques, a stalwart on the street there for the past three decades.
Preparations are currently underway to get the gallery’s next chapter off to a new start with a revamp and a reopening launch party this Thursday to celebrate taking up residence in their new home. The other big news is that after seventeen years, Vincent, founding Director of Gallery Zozimus has decided to hang up his curator hat, and is now taking a well earned retirement.
Speaking about the relaunch, Charlie Meehan says, “Now, it’s up to me, Charlie, and my brother, Shane, to keep the magic alive. I’ve no doubt that Vincent will pop in regularly to make sure we’re doing it right!”
The ever-hospitable gallery, which began life in 2007 and stocks a nice array of mostly Irish paintings and sculptures, promises a warm welcome, great conversation and a selection of terrific art by their amazing range of artists.
We wish them well in their new home.
The relaunch party offering attendees a first look at the lovely bright new space now occupied by Gallery Zozimus in the heart of the historic Liberties takes place on Thursday April 24th. Refreshments will be served from 6pm to 8pm. Details about how to register to attend can be found over on their Instagram.
