The Bigger Picture is a continuing series of special screenings of critically acclaimed films from world cinema, each given a special introduction by somebody from the film community to contextualise the relevance and importance of the chosen film.
This month’s film is Béla Tarr’s Werckmeister Harmonies – being screened at 6.30pm on Monday 29th June – an Hungarian film from 2000, set in a small Hungarian town just after WWII featuring Tarr’s characteristically sparse style. The film will be presented and introduced by Irish director Mark O’Halloran, the man behind both Adam and Paul and Garage, two of the most celebrated Irish arthouse films of recent years.
