It isn’t Halloween without scary movies, and the ghoulish souls behind Dublin’s Bram Stoker Festival is celebrating with three nights of cinematic hair-raising horror this weekend.
Screenings take place in the dead of night in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, and film fanatics are encouraged to get into the spooky spirit, dig deep in the attic and come dressed to distress in long black dresses and 90s chokers.
Kicking off with The Craft (Friday 25 Oct, 8pm, €16) the film follows four troubled teenage girls who practice witchcraft and must face the consequences of their dark deeds.
Next up is an absolute howl. An American Werewolf in London (Sat 26 Oct, 8:30pm, €16); the iconic 1981 film combines macabre horror and dark humour to tell the tale of an American backpacker bitten by a werewolf while on holiday in England.
Rounding things off is iconic vampire thriller The Lost Boys (Sun 27 Oct, 8pm, €16), as Corey Feldman and Corey Haim face off against a vampire biker gang.
Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die.
So there you go. Three creepy cult classics over a packed weekend at Meeting House Horrors. And what’s more, we have three pairs of tickets to give away…
