Gustave Tops is the Belgian barman who invented The White Russian, in the Hotel Metropole in Brussels, in 1949. He made it in honour of Perle Mesta, the socialite, political hostess and U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg. The Russian hovered in the mid-tier of cocktail popularity until The Big Lebowski detonated cult status under it. Now designer Jordan Ralph has shaken and stirred a new buzz with his batches of White Ralph’s. With neat branding and milk bottle-effect presentation, it’s lead to outbreak of cream covered lips on all the right faces. We can’t best their own description of it tasting like “Hopper’s Nighthawks on the rollover with a Japanese soft serve ice cream.” The dude abides!
Batch #006 goes live later this week.
