Charlotte Quay recently re-launched its takeaway service for the first time since the city’s dining rooms had to abruptly close their doors due to the ongoing impact of the pandemic just before Christmas.
Their new takeaway venture reopens in the colourful guise of MOVEMBURGER, the cool pop up burger shack that proved so popular on its first outing last November. Open from Wednesday to Sunday, the focus is on serving up a tasty range of great quality burgers, cocktails and specials.
Details of what’s on offer can be found at the end of this article, but a quick look at the menu reveals four distinctly flavoursome burger offerings, with a choice of beef, chicken, falafel or cod all available.
Our eye was quickly drawn to The Walrus Burger, a delicious Beer Fried Cod, Brioche, Tartar Sauce and Mushy Peas combo, that’s sure to whet the appetite of anyone with a hankering for a taste of the sea. The Imperial Burger looks like it too packs a punch, with gorgeous Chickpea Falafel, served on Brioche, with Tzatziki, Cheese, Lettuce, Pickles and Tomato.
Meanwhile, those who prefer their burgers old-school can enjoy succulent Irish Beef and Free Range Chicken with a selection of favoursome fillings enveloped in tasty Brioche. We’re advised that a variety of surprise specials will also be available from the chef on a week to week basis, along with a great selection of cocktails.
Genial restaurateur Marc Bereen tells us that in addition to serving up a delicious selection of burgers and cocktails, the new venture will also focus on raising funds for Movember, with €1 from each burger going towards supporting the work of the mental health charity.
As Bereen observes, “We all know how important our mental health is, especially now in these very challenging times. While November tends to be the month we focus most on it, actually our mental health needs minding all year round. The pandemic has been adversely affecting all of us, but we are also aware that guys are often slower to talk about these things and seek out help if they need it.”
He continues, “That’s why we’ve decided to keep on moving with our fund-raising efforts for Movember, a charity that is very close to our hearts. Movember is all about changing the face of men’s health, so we will be donating €1 from each burger sold to this great cause, because after all, Movember is not just for November.”
