Saké is often seen as a bit niche, but these days you can get some really interesting saké in individual serving sizes. They’re often called saké cups, and in my opinion, they make an excellent cinema treat.
Most saké pairs perfectly with salted popcorn because they are fresh and acidic in the same way white wine is. I recommend trying the Ozeki Josen One Cup to start with.
It has been the most popular cup of Saké in Japan for over 40 years, and you can get it in 64 Wines, Mitchell & Son, Drink Store, Baggot Street Wines and many more spots all across Dublin for less than a tenner.
Plus it doesn’t make that tell-tale ‘I just snuck a beer in here’ crack the way a can does.
