We’ve dropped into Fibber’s beer garden mash-up with The Living Room and Murrays off Parnell Street a few times of late and can officially deem it the best in the city.
It is the ultimate microcosm of here now with a clientele reflective of a city you may not see in Southside versions. There’s enough scale to keep it endlessly interesting and enough nooks and crannies and pool tables to balance out a dive bar feel.
A recent acquaintance there likened the experience to almost being on holidays. For a hot second and a few beers, it felt just like that.
Should it come as any surprise that the Holiday Inn Express which adjoins it wants to close it down and build more hotel rooms in its place.
