Irish chefs under 30, let’s be having ya! Entries are now open for the prestigious S. Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition which aims to discover and mentor the most promising and talented young chefs in the world.
To secure the coveted title, entrants must demonstrate ‘unrivalled technical abilities’ as well as ‘true creativity’ to impress the global Grand Jury, which is made up of a panel of internationally renowned chefs. In particular, the talented winner will need to convince the jury of their ability to become a catalyst for positive change, while also demonstrating a strong personal belief regarding gastronomy.
Irishman Mark Moriarty managed to do all that and claim the title back in 2015, and he reckons it’s well worth having a go at. “Winning the competition has opened up numerous avenues that would not have been possible before… I cannot recommend this competition enough for ambitious chefs with the talent and vision to build a career that works for them, and showcases the Irish hospitality industry on a global stage.”
Naturally, stiff competition is expected, with entrants mentored closely throughout by world-renowned chefs who will help them bring their culinary skills and vision for the future to the next level. Applying chefs must be under 30 years of age and can register via the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition website.
The application process closes on the June 19th.
Good luck!
