Google Ireland is planning to open a pub in Dublin 4 because they don’t own enough of Grand Canal dock yet! They’ve filed plans with Dublin City Council to turn some retail and café space into a watering hole at Unit 3 Building B, Boland’s Mill campus on Ringsend Road.
Planning consultant John Spain says they’re responding to a keen pub operator and looking to jazz up the area’s evening scene. This proposed pub, sprawling over 660 square meters, is set to make Boland’s Quay more attractive and lively.
With no tenants lining up for the original retail, café, and restaurant slots, and the development almost finished, Google wants to avoid empty spaces. So, why not a pub?
Dublin City Council will make a call on this proposed boozy venture by the end of next month.
