Just under a year since UK based steak specialists Hawksmoor launched their Irish operation here in Dublin and they’re already going native. This spring sees them involved in a special collaboration with famed Irish crisp makers Tayto to dish up their interpretation of a Dublin pub classic, which they’ve billed as The Ultimate Ham and Cheese Toastie with loaded Tayto crisps.
The backstory is a familiar one. Hawksmoor co-founders Huw Gott and Will Beckett found themselves in Dublin a lot last year, and in between the hours spent working away to get their new city centre restaurant up and running, they made a few hospitable new friends who introduced them to the world of pints, ham and cheese toasties, and bags of Tayto.
As a tribute to the fond memories savoured by the founders during this special time, Hawksmoor’s Executive Head Chef Matt Brown, has now combined forces with Irish crisp brand Tayto to create a delicious Ham Hock and Cheese Toastie with loaded Tayto crisps on the side.
Packed with gorgeous Ham hock, red & white Irish cheddar, Gubbeen and mozzarella, cornichon pickles and jalapeños, the Hawksmoor X Tayto Toastie Special comes served with a side of the famous Irish crisps, which have also been given the Hawksmoor treatment.
They come charged and loaded with scallion mayo and juicy ham hock on top, resulting in a very tasty bar snack, that up to now we frankly never knew we needed.
This iconic collaboration will be available until the end of March. Available in the bar area, walk-ins only and subject to availability.
