As we head towards mid-summer and the longest day of the year, the organisers of Beyond the Pale have cultivated an incredible line-up to help celebrate the ancient Celtic traditions of folklore, feasting and festivals.
While the awe-inspiring Grace Jones makes us all slaves to the rhythm, curator Ali Dunworth has invited some of the country’s most enduring and passionate advocates of food and drink to join her for some tasty discussions as part of the fascinating food section of the programme, where she’ll be reflecting on the origins of how we eat and feast here in Ireland and beyond.
Expect plenty of tasting, talking and testing as Beyond The Plate explores a rich heritage of food and folklore, taking in topics such as foraging, fires, storytelling, and music along the way.
The company looks great too, with food lovers Aoife Carrigy, Kevin Thornton, Jess Kelly, and cocktail maker Dave Mulligan amongst those on hand to make it a pre-Summer Solstice gathering to remember.
The three day festival takes place from June 16th to 18th in the beautiful surroundings of Glendalough Estate.
