We’re raising a glass and savouring the prospect of a slender new tome dedicated to one of our favourite topics. A Compendium of Irish Pints sees Ali Dunworth delve into the boozy underbelly of what we euphemistically like to call the Pinta Móra Deasa (that’s big lovely pints to the uninitiated).
We can’t wait to read her take on the question of how a simple jar of joy became such a popular phenomenon, as she explores the culture, customs and craic surrounding the world of pints in Ireland.
The epicurean scribe’s herculean research deals with a wealth of subjects ranging from after work pints to festival pints, quiet pints to celebratory pints, airport pints to unplanned pints, and much, much more.
There’s plenty to enjoy here, while each entry is accompanied by a unique illustration by London based designer, artist and illustrator Stephen Heffernan, aka hephee.
A Compendium of Irish Pints by Ali Dunworth is available for pre-orders from publishers Nine Bean Rows ahead of its release on May 7th, with a special happy hour price tag of €15 for early house readers.
The book can be pre-ordered here.
