Becky is a dreamer, she has dreamed of being a television producer since she was a little girl. After being let go from the morning programme she produces in New Jersey she desperately tries to find a new job, any job! She is ecstatic when she lands the job of Executive Producer with Manhattan morning show “Daybreak”, despite warnings from everyone involved that it is the worst job ever and she won’t last five minutes. This is a story of someone who refuses to give up and is rather inspiring in a frothy kind of way.

Her adversaries in the form of vain anchor Collen (Keaton) and pompous Mike (Ford) are formidable and it takes a special kind of plucky heroine to penetrate their hearts. Luckily Rachel McAdams is delightfully well-rounded and loveable as always which allows the audience to forgive the films less pleasant qualities and accept it for the mindless romp it is. Fun, but forgettable.
