Willie turns 90 on the 29th and remains one of the most enduringly popular country music singers of his time. He claims marijuana saved his life and how “energy follows thought, so be careful what you’re thinking.” With his customary bandana and braids, Nelson started out in honky-tonks before migrating to the Grand Old Opry and has released seventy full-length records since his début in 1962.
This fundraiser brings together local musicians who all wish to pay tribute to Nelson, presumably by covering his greatest hits. Artists include Maija Sofia, NC Lawlor, Brigid Mae Power, Joseph Chester, Séan Millar, Tandem Felix and others.
