Clare makes work relating to memories and secret histories that are depicted by lands and seas in mists, veils and ghostly figures. Now living in the West of Ireland, Clare is making work further influenced by the local history, lore and landscape of her new environment.
James’ work is rooted in the duality of the conscious and subconscious mind, and our existence amid the natural world. His new body of work explores abstracted landscapes and forms through gathered imagery, distorted through digital filters and altered media formats. Inspirations are rooted in paganism, nature and the otherworldly.
Clare and James’ work is connected through their interest in the unknown, of liminal spaces and a consideration of the land of Ireland and its mystical pre-histories and lore.
