The long-awaited return of gigs, attendant with sweaty mingling and queues for the bar, is finally upon us. And there’s lots to be buzzed about. Homegrown talents such as Gemma Dunleavy and For Those I Love, who exploded in popularity over lockdown, play sold out hometown shows. Meanwhile, we get to welcome international acts again too. Rebecca Lucy Taylor, aka Self Esteem, is one of those acts who has been thrilling in advance of her sophomore album Prioritise Pleasure which has just dropped, with Taylor promising, “13 songs of cleansing myself of the guilt and fear of being a woman who is ‘too much’ and replacing that very notion with a celebration of myself, of you, of being a human and the way that isn’t always easy or perfect, and that’s ok.”
