Nolan’s project seeks to open a dialogue about what an appropriate approach to integrating the narrative of Traveller History into the ‘National Project’ might look like. Building a resource of exhibits and items which reflect this culture, Nolan seeks a better appreciation of how the traveller community integrates and stands apart from the ‘settled’ community and in turn makes us appreciate their values, traditions and customs. It has been commissioned by the gallery in association with Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Centre.
