‘Room to Explore‘, a new interactive art exhibition in Dún Laoghaire’s dlr LexIcon, offers babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers an opportunity to playfully engage in creative exploration. Hosted by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council (dlr) Arts Office, the exhibition is designed specifically for 0-5-year-olds and their caregivers, and features artworks by early years artists Helen Barry, Anne Bradley, Jane Hayes, and Órla Kelly. The artists’ works appeal to all senses and playfully encourage children to interact with – or simply observe – a range of different materials, textures, shapes, colours, and sounds.
‘Room to Explore’ opens at the Municipal Gallery, dlr LexIcon in Dún Laoghaire on 18 May and runs until 11 August 2024 (closed 1-3 June and 3-5 August). The exhibition is free to visit and accompanied by a programme of talks and events, including workshops aimed at children and adults.
