A victim of the savage snowfall earlier in the year, New Music Dublin defrosts itself for a second attempt. Remounted in a condensed form, it opens with two free events on Culture Night. Highlights over the weekend include Sir James McMillan conducting the Irish Chamber Orchestra, and Chamber Choir Ireland in a performance of his monumental Stabat Mater. Meanwhile, Continental Drift features the National Symphony Orchestra performing the work of two international contemporary composers — South Korean Unsuk Chin, and the world premiere of Kevin Volan’s ‘Gol Na mBan San Ár – for Uilleann Pipes and Orchestra.
