After the closure of the Dublin Writers Museum in 2020, the carefully preserved collection held at the museum has been transferred to the MoLI and remained unseen by the public, until now. The collection features all the very best Irish writers’ possessions that played an influential part in their accomplished lives, including Samuel Beckett’s telephone from his Paris apartment, Brendan Behan’s typewriter and union membership card, Mary Lavin’s childhood teddy bear, Frank O’Connor’s spectacles, and many more. Check out these historical artifacts on display at the MoLI now.
A City of Words runs at MoLI until Summer 2025
