The story of Graphic Studio Dublin takes it from its origins in a small basement in Upper Mount Street with just an etching press and a litho press, through various temporary premises to its current splendid and well equipped building in Distillery Court on the North Circular Road.
The aim of the founding members was to make the European tradition of fine art printmaking available to Irish artists.
This exhibition, curated by Eithne Jordan, RHA Keeper, showcases a small selection of the prints made in the studio throughout these years of printmaking excellence.
Woodblock, mezzotint, etching, silkscreen, lithography, photo–etching, linocut, woodcut, and carborundum prints reflects the varied techniques and styles employed by a multitude of artists throughout six decades; a testament to the vision of the founders of Graphic Studio Dublin.
