DublinJazz.ie kicks off their International Jazz Series with a show by the Andreas Varady Trio in Lost Lane on February 20th. Born of Hungarian Gypsy descent in a small Slovakian town, Varady started learning guitar at the humble age of 4. Moving to Ireland in 2007, it wasn’t long before Cork and Limerick natives saw a 9 year old Varady busking on the streets. At the age of 13, he became the youngest headlining artist at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London, and since then has played with Martin Taylor, Tommy Emmanuel and Louis Stewart among others.
This week, The Andreas Varady Trio come to Lost Lane with two albums under their belt and some of the finest jazz to come out of the country in the decade.
