Born too late to headbang at a Nirvana gig? Want to relive grunge-soaked memories? Too cash-strapped to see the real Dave Grohl at a stadium? Los Angeles Foo Fighters tribute band, Everlong, are coming to Dublin to actualize all of your Grohlcentric fantasies. Striving for “pure unadulterated play your ass off, give it all you got rock and roll,” neighbours Paul Calder and Bill Orr founded the band in 2020. Since then, they’ve been playing shows across California, and this upcoming performance at The Lighthouse marks their first in Ireland. The set consists of classic Foo Fighters material alongside Nirvana hits, and Queens of the Stone Age numbers which Dave Grohl contributed to. If you close your eyes (and drink enough Guinness) you might truly feel in the presence of the man himself.
Everlong Live, a Tribute to Dave Grohl takes place at 7pm on Saturday, 27 July. Tickets from €20 here.
