Bray Jazz Festival returns this May Bank Holiday weekend, celebrating its 24th edition as one of Ireland’s most prestigious jazz events. Established in 2000 by George and Dorothy Jacob, the festival has grown into a key highlight of the Irish cultural calendar, drawing some of the finest international and homegrown jazz musicians.
This year’s lineup features an exciting blend of performers, including four-time Billboard Musician of the Year Vijay Iyer, Mercury Prize nominee Nubya Garcia, and Finnish trumpeter Vernari Pohjola. Audiences can also look forward to performances from rising stars such as Amy Gadiaga and Nabou Claerhout, while Irish jazz enthusiasts can enjoy sets from local legends like Zaska, Christine Tobin, and Grammy-winning pianist Francesco Turrisi.

Concerts will take place across multiple venues, ensuring a vibrant festival atmosphere throughout Bray.
The Mermaid Arts Centre, Whale Theatre, and Bray Town Hall will host headline performances, while the iconic Harbour Bar will provide an intimate setting for late-night jazz sessions. Additionally, the festival’s popular Fringe Programme will bring free gigs to local pubs, cafés, and restaurants, making jazz accessible to the wider community.
