Much loved by the Guardian set, we can only assume writing the smash hit musical We Will Rock You along with Queen has afforded him a champagne socialist lifestyle long since detached from his ‘right-on’, left-wing leanings. He’s written 16 novels and remains prolific in film writing and directing. However, a 15-year break from the stand-up scene may dim the spotlight on this.
