The best of cutting edge and contemporary art will be showcased by the country’s leading galleries and artists at the first ever Art Evolve fair which takes place at Dublin’s RDS from April 4th – 6th.
Members of the Contemporary Art Gallery Association (CAGA) are set to join forces with other established galleries and individual artists to bring together the very best in Irish and international contemporary art under one roof for the first time.
In early April visitors will have the opportunity to see the best of what the country’s leading galleries and artists have to offer and to talk to the experts with a range of price points from acclaimed to mid-career artists on show. One of the highlights of the show is an installation by street artist Maser, showcasing various chapters of his working life and offering visitors the chance to engage with the artist. His Creative Convergence lends itself to a wider audience participation and is part of an interactive experience which, on the Friday evening, will include a DJ set, Hennessy cocktails and artist talks.
In addition, the Art Evolve Show will also feature works by world renowned abstract painter Sean Scully, celebrated sculptor Eilis O’Connell and Aosdána member Patrick Graham. Speaking about the show, organiser Patrick O’Sullivan says, “It is the ideal opportunity for collectors and the culturally curious to experience some of the best contemporary art currently being created in Ireland, and to get some expert advice and guidance from leading galleries.”
The galleries too are excited about introducing some of their most celebrated artists to both new and familiar faces. Taylor Galleries, Oliver Sears Gallery, Kerlin Gallery, Hillsboro Fine Art and Solomon Fine Art, are among the city galleries which make up CAGA, whose mission is to promote artists’ careers and expand a public audience.
For gallery owner Oliver Sears, there is a real sense of the art world meeting the consumer at Art Evolve, with opportunities for visitors to learn about the work of some of our most celebrated and up and coming artists. Founder and director of Hillsboro Fine Art, John Daly, described Art Evolve as a ‘must see’ and ‘a one stop shop’ for visitors who can take in a grand sweep of the city’s contemporary art scene in one visit.
Art Evolve takes place at the RDS (Industries Hall) from April 4-6. Full fair details and booking at artevolve.ie.
