Howth is turning up the volume with the launch of its inaugural Howth Guinness, Oyster & Music Festival. Famous for its seafood bars and restaurants, the North Dublin coastal town has created a festival celebrating three of our favourite things: Guinness, oysters and music. The Abbey Tavern will host The Dublin Oyster Shucking Championships, there will be Roaming Oyster Shuckers, a Best Dressed Oyster competition and an Oyster Shucking Masterclass with Oyesome.
Live music highlights include Cork legends The Frank & Walters unplugged, multi-platinum artist Ryan Sheridan, Donegal harmony group The Henry Girls, folk icons Scullion and rising Indie stars Really Good Time, Last Apollo, Blue Slate and Martina & The Moons. Sunday funk is courtesy of Zaska and Toby Corton and there’ll be a special performance by the de facto Queen of Howth, Leslie Dowdall (In Tua Nua).
