Sumi is the brand new bespoke framing and fine art printing studio from co-founder of Hen’s Teeth, Russell Simmons. “So far, we’ve handled some fairly big commissions, such as printing and framing the ‘People & Places’ exhibition in The National Library of Ireland.
We’ve also curated and framed the artworks for some really exciting new Dublin venues like The Storyteller on Grand Canal Street.” With plans for a new studio on Wexford Street almost realised, it’s all action stations for Simmons. We also found out what a sumi is which is a type of black Japanese ink prepared in solid sticks and used for painting and writing.
