Just like crypto, the heat has gone out of NFTs, for the moment or forever. For example, A Bathing Ape NFT went for 2.13 Ethereum ($6,692) last March and was valued at 0.097 Eth ($153) last month.
However, one person unlikely to be bothered is the pioneering NFT artist Mike Winkelmann aka Beeple. The NFT for his collage of 5000 digital images sold for $69.3 million at Christie’s in 2021.
Known for his daily digital creations: from twisted pop-culture caricatures to breathtaking sci-fi landscapes, the images will be on display on an old-fashioned format called print and Winkleman will reflect on his career and newfound celebrity.
Whether he reflects on his wealth and the aftermath remains to be seen.
