The Gallery of Photography relaunches as Photo Museum Ireland today, showcasing the youngest generation of budding photographers, Iseult Monahan, Lottie-Bow and Alex Hayden McEntee.
Legendary photojournalist Tony O’Shea launched the new museum along with artist Yvette Monahan, whose work is featured in the Museum’s upcoming exhibition In Our Own Image: The Politics of Place.
Currently located in Meeting House Square in Temple Bar, the organisation has over forty years of experience supporting Irish artists to reflect contemporary concerns. Its new National Photography Collection, broad-ranging, acclaimed programme of curated exhibitions, supports for artists’ practices and innovative outreach programmes continue to break new ground for photography and foster a critical understanding of the medium, making it one of Ireland’s leading arts venues.
