Often associated with taking a pulse rather than representing one, St Patrick’s Festival is making serious strides in creating credible cultural content over ‘Four Great Days’.
Catch Music for 18th Machines in St Patrick’s Cathedral (March 18) or a full day of talks The Revolution Will Not Be Televised in Smock Alley (March 18) with contributions from Julian Gough, Amanda Coogan, Louise Lowe, Dr Paul Rouse and many more.
The Sean-Nós workshop The Past is the Present (March 18) in the Little Museum also tickled our fancy, and of course Young Blood: The Beats and Voices of Our Generation a night of hip hop and poetry at the National Concert Hall with appearances from the likes of Emmet Kirwan, Hare Squead, The Rusango Family, Katie Laffin and Stephen James Smith. More major whet than majorette.
