Step into a world of wonder at Midsummer Miscellany, a fundraiser for Fingal Poetry Festival which takes place in Joe May’s Pub in Skerries this Thursday evening.
Featuring a night of verse, music, story and song, there’s also a short 30min open mic for anyone who feels inspired to perform.
Organisers tell us that the evening is dedicated to celebrating and nurturing the literary arts in their local community. Open mic slots will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis. One 3 min performance per person, €5 entry fee. Just give your name at the door when you arrive.
Your presence will help sustain a vibrant arts scene in Skerries and surrounding towns, allowing them to pay artists fairly for their participation in the 2024 Fingal Poetry Festival.
The fifth outing of the terrific Fingal Poetry Festival takes place from September 13th- 15th 2024. Along with many new and exciting events still being plotted, the organisers will be bringing back some firm favourites – including poetry walks by the sea or through the forest, the festival’s unique ISL (Irish Sign Language) interpreted readings, and their ever-popular Family Fest for younger poetry lovers – all, as usual, in the company of music, poetry’s first cousin.
Midsummer Miscellany takes place this Thursday 27 June from 8pm till late upstairs in Joe May’s Pub, Skerries
Tickets €15 at the door (Cash/Card)
Please support if you can.
