Brainchild of artistic polymath Lynette Moran, Live Collision will invade a range of eclectic and novel spaces in the city between the 18th and 21st of April.  A live performance festival incorporating art, theatre, installations, screenings, publications and technology, it aims to blur the lines between audience and performance by facilitating engagement between the two separate but dependent spheres.

Domestically, Moran’s ability and willingness to both collaborate and innovate has landed her a high profile role within Create the national development agency for collaborative arts and sees her co-create and produce the acclaimed Project Brand New, a former recipient of the Special Judges Award at the Irish Times Theatre Awards. She has also garnered wide renown outside of the island for her involvement with the Skype utilising ‘mouth to mouth’ International Performance Collective, the European Festival Association and the Supporting Performing Arts Circulation in Europe initiative. Other noteworthy off-shore projects include a spell in Latvia as part of the artistic exchange dance programme E-Motional Bodies and Cities and TRASH, a live art electro trash band with performances in Washington and New York.

The festival will inhabit the capital physically and digitally by occupying public spaces, basement flats, rooftop gardens, hidden locations and even mobile phones. Androids at the ready. It will offer the audience a sense of curatorial control over the performances they choose, facilitating an opportunity for interaction and heightening the overall performance experience for both artist and audience member.
