Enjoy a festive experience like no other and bask in the glow of the unique, specially commissioned light features throughout the city centre.
With an ever-expanding and exciting programme, you can experience festival favourites such as the GPO and the rainbow arches at the Millennium Bridge as well as stunning light installations in great new locations. Marvel at the colourful light projections on the Newcomen Bank, the James Joyce Bridge, along the Liffey Boardwalk and Hugh Lane Gallery.
Visit Ireland’s first ever 360-degree immersive light and sound experience at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks. Light, colour and sound come together to fill the space as abstract shapes, images of the natural world and an imagined world explore the theme ‘Immerse Yourself’. See colourful graphics by 7 artists transform the GPO as the theme ‘Grow’ comes to life on this iconic building in the centre of Dublin. Along the River Liffey, the popular rainbow arches on the Millennium Bridge are back and the Boardwalk gets a ‘Dublin City Council Dublin Winter Lights’ makeover with 300 metres of dynamic lighting.
Explore the stars and the vastness of the universe with ‘Constellations’, at George’s Dock. This audio-visual installation projects light on invisible water particles to form shapes and intangible structures in the air accompanied by electronic soundscapes.
‘Dublin City Council Dublin Winter Lights’ brings playfulness, interactivity, light projections and a huge 30ft wide snow globe to Dublin’s iconic Georgian Square, Merrion Square Park. The snow globe is a magical hologram for all to enjoy. Lights will shine bright through the trees and across the grass in the park. Have fun playing a giant game of Tic-Tac-Toe and dancing on the interactive, light-fantastic dance floor! Tickets for Merrion Square Park are just €2 for 1 adult and up to 2 children! 5pm to 5.30pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings in Merrion Square Park will be reserved for Relaxed Viewing Tickets. This time slot is designed to welcome people who will benefit from a more relaxed environment, including those who identify as neurodiverse.
