Beween their opening of an exhibition space in Temple Bar, and the installation of NightScreen, Ireland’s first large-scale dedicated digital art screen, Monster Truck have been happily evolving and expanding over the past couple of years. Now they are expanding upwards, with the mezzanine area of their Temple Bar space being transformed into a new micro-gallery, North of Monster Truck. A compact white cube space, North will be predominantly used for new media and installation works, where they can be contemplated with minimal outside interference. The opening exhibition, Stephen Gunning’s Les Endormis, is an intimate, touching, yet witty series documenting sleeping figures in the Paris cityscape. With the downstairs space also housing a stunning exhibition of abstract geometric paintings by Hugh Delan, Monster Truck is coming up trumps here.
