Vincent and Charlie of Gallery Zozimus were in touch to tell us that their beloved Dublin art gallery is sadly set to close its doors at its current location in the heart of the city’s Arts and Antiques quarter in the Liberties.
In an email announcing the news they said, “Circumstances dictate that Gallery Zozimus will soon have to close its doors. This decision has not come lightly. Niall Mullen, with whom we share the premises, has decided to close his business and to use the premises for other purposes, meaning that we must vacate the premises in the coming months.”
Having been in their Francis Street location since 2020, the duo are currently doing their best to find a new home for the popular Dublin gallery. They tell us that should they find a suitable premises, their intention is to see Gallery Zozimus continue into 2025 and beyond. Unfortunately, given current difficulties in securing spaces in the city for cultural activities, that mission is proving extremely challenging at the moment, and so they have issued an appeal to anyone who knows of a potential space to get in touch with them as soon as possible.
In the interim, and with the cooperation of the gallery artists, Gallery Zozimus is having a Winter Sale and Exhibition, featuring a gorgeous selection of paintings, prints, and ceramic sculptures.
The sale features stunning paintings and prints from talented artists, with each piece carefully chosen for its beauty and originality. In addition, the Gallery also boasts a fine selection of unique ceramic sculptures which beautifully blend artistry and craftsmanship.
Vincent and Charlie are inviting the city’s art lovers to visit Gallery Zozimus to experience these remarkable works in person, while the duo will also be on hand to assist browsers in finding the perfect piece. It’s a rare opportunity for Dubliners to find some unique pieces for their collection or to source a selection of thoughtful gifts for the holiday season.
The sale will continue at 57 Francis Street, Dublin 8 throughout November and December 2024.
Please support if you can.
