The sportswear brand Montirex has launched a new campaign to address mental health issues among young men.

Partnering with CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), Montirex has installed ‘pop-up’ football goalposts in key cities, including a Dublin installation at Mary’s Lane, Smithfield.

These goalposts feature a QR code linking back to Montirex’s Break the Wall website, which offers advice and aims to create conversation around mental health issues.

The initiative uses football as a tool to promote mental health discussions among young men, encouraging friends to check in with each other while playing sports.

Founded in Liverpool in 2019 by Kieran Riddell-Austin and Danny Yuen, Montirex strives to break down the stigma around men’s mental health. Danny Yeun says, “If our campaign gets more young men talking to each other and breaking down the walls that exist around mental health, we’ll be proud to have played a small part in tackling those issues.”

Marys Lane, Smithfield, D7.
