A unique opportunity to see Europe’s oldest surviving play performed in Europe’s oldest spoken language. This Irish-language production of the Greek drama, ‘Persians’ from Irish writer and poet Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill comes to the Abbey Theatre for one month. A take on the play infused with Sean Nós, performed in Irish with English subtitles, it is a work that takes pride in presenting these niche interests to a broad audience in a compelling way.
Such an opportunity to support the arts, the history of the arts and our native tongue rarely presents itself, and is not to be missed.
Wednesday 6 March – Saturday 6 April, on the Peacock Stage at The Abbey Theatre, €22 – €25
