We’re really looking forward to getting our hands on a copy of DOOM’s Bistro Book from indie publishers Blue Monday Press when it launches at Hen’s Teeth on Sunday December 3rd.
Written and illustrated by Ben Gore, the publication is an unofficial cookbook inspired by the music of MF DOOM, featuring over 60 recipes for foods and drinks directly referenced in the work of the late artist.
Explaining the book’s genesis, Gore notes that MF DOOM frequently seasoned his music with references to food, adding; “I’ve been a huge DOOM fan for decades and this cookbook came together as a way to pay tribute to an icon of hip hop while adding a delicious dimension to his back catalogue.”
To coincide with the event, Hen’s Teeth will be hosting a special DOOM edition of their iconic Bring Your Own Art Show (BYOAS), as well as treating visitors to a gorgeous selection of dishes and drinks based on recipes from the book.
There’s also an opportunity for fans to get tattoos of their favourite illustration from the book, with €5 from each tattoo and 30% of all BYOAS sales being paid to DOOM’s estate.
